Themed Learning for Little Kids

Our super fun themes tie all the fun and learning together. Each one of our Summer Camps has an exciting theme. Camp themes transform each camp into a thrilling and engaging adventure for the kids. Our themes are educational and promote learning in a fun way.

  • This summer, our West Coast Wonders theme invites children to explore the incredible natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest—from towering forests to ocean life and soaring birds. Through imaginative play, gymnastics, art, and hands-on activities, children will discover how nature moves, grows, and connects.

Each day brings a new adventure, encouraging children to crawl like forest animals, glide like sea creatures, and soar like birds, all while building strength, coordination, and confidence. Along the way, they’ll develop early science understanding, language skills, and a deeper curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

It’s a summer full of movement, creativity, and exploration—where learning comes to life through play.

  • Our Little Artists, Big Ideas theme invites children to explore movement as a form of creative expression through art, music, and imagination. Throughout the week, children will use their bodies to create shapes, respond to rhythm, experiment with colour, and bring stories to life.

Each camp introduces a new creative focus—from moving like a painting and dancing to music, to exploring colour, shapes, and imaginative performance. Through gymnastics, hands-on activities, and creative play, children build confidence, coordination, and body awareness while developing early math, language, and listening skills.

This theme encourages self-expression, creativity, and problem-solving in a fun and supportive environment—where every child can move, create, and shine in their own unique way.

  • Our Curious Minds theme encourages children to explore, question, and discover the world around them through movement, play, and hands-on learning. From observing tiny details to experimenting with water, light, patterns, and creative problem-solving, each week invites children to think like young scientists.

Through gymnastics, sensory exploration, and inquiry-based activities, children will investigate how things move, change, and connect—building focus, coordination, and confidence along the way. They’ll explore cause-and-effect, patterns, and simple scientific concepts while developing observation skills, creativity, and curiosity.

This theme sparks a love of discovery, empowering children to ask questions, try new ideas, and learn through exploration and play.

What’s a day of Summer Camp like at Jump Gymnastics?

Every camp day is carefully structured to give kids the perfect balance of movement, learning, creativity, and fun.

two gym session each day

The kids have two dedicated gym sessions each day. Each day includes two dedicated gym sessions designed for different types of learning.

The first gym session is led by our highly qualified coaches and focuses on skill-building through guided gymnastics circuits, movement progressions, and coach-supported learning. This is where campers develop coordination, strength, confidence, and body awareness in a structured and supportive environment.

The second gym session is filled with non-competitive games that are designed for kids to participate fully (no waiting in line!), leave room for creativity, and help build skills. Our games are designed to be simple, with a familiar format and few rules. This approach ensures that kids can easily understand the game and focus on having fun. Kids learn best through fun and play! Your little one will be learning social skills, motor skills, planning, listening… the list goes on! Often, this is a child’s favourite part of gymnastics and they get to move their bodies creatively while having a ton of fun!

Often families ask us, shouldn’t my kid spend all day in the gym? As much as we love spending time in the gym - we find that two gym sessions that focus on different types of learning best support skill development and enjoyment at camp.

camp recess: exploring what we learn

Between gym sessions, campers enjoy “camp recess”—a chance to reset and explore skills from the gym in a more relaxed, playful way. This may include movement-based games, imaginative play, or simple group activities that help children process learning through creativity and social connection.

a balanced day

When the kids are not in the gym we focus on active rest and “flexing” our other muscles. We work on process driven crafts (to improve fine motor skills and concentration), reading and literature time (to improve our language and communication skills), and themed centres play. We make sure to fuel our bodies too! Kids bring food from home (we recommend two snacks and a lunch) and we make sure there is time in the day to enjoy our food to make sure we have energy to move our bodies!

camp themes bring it all together

Every camp week is built around a fun, engaging theme that connects the entire experience. Themes turn camp into an adventure, giving purpose and imagination to everything campers do—from gymnastics circuits to games, crafts, and storytelling.

Instead of feeling like separate activities, everything ties together through the theme, making the day more immersive, exciting, and meaningful. By the end of the week, campers don’t just remember what they did—they remember the world they explored.
