If you don’t know about Date Night you should! It’s every Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Drop off the kids so they can play in the gym, eat some yummy pizza, and have tons of fun. We'll tire them out, feed them, and get them in their PJ’s, ready for you by 8:30! You could spend that valuable time running errands or - like it says - have yourselves a Date Night! It’s a tad early for dinner, and certainly no time to take in a show. BUT 5:30 to 8:30 is PRIME deck-and-patio time on these warmer and longer days. There’s plenty to do around town, so why not treat yourselves?
Here are a few choice downtown decks we recommend:
Joe Fortes This rooftop deck was renovated a few years ago and it’s a stunner! This is one of only a few places in town where you can confidently order oysters knowing that they will be fresh and professionally shucked. Getting there from Jump means a stroll up Robson Street, past Salvatore Ferragamo (open till 7) and Victoria's Secret (till 9). Check out their menu here.
Lift Lift rests overtop the water in Coal Harbor, with a rooftop that boasts a gas fire pit, great views of the North Shore mountains and Stanley Park. The ‘deck menu’ is 1/2 priced from 3 – 6 pm, so you can easily squeeze in an order before then. From Jump, hop in a cab or use the valet service and make sure to get that order in before 6! Check out their menu here.
Cactus Club (English Bay) Literally on the beach, if you choose the right night, you’ll be basking in direct sunshine (don’t forget the sunscreen!). This is a busy spot for all the right reasons but given the timing, you should easily get lucky with the seats. With all the usual suspects on the menu, it’s people-watching heaven. Take a cab from Jump; there’s never any parking. Check out their menu here.
Reflections (At the Rosewood Hotel Georgia) Open from April through September, see-and-be-seen at Reflections. Infinity water features, a central fire pit, VIP private cabanas, you get where we’re going! This place makes our list because it’s outdoors (sunshine and views are absent for the most part). Sophisticated service with prices that match, but who’s counting? A 10 min walk from Jump, head up Robson and turn right at the Art Gallery. Check out their menu here.
Blue Water Café A Yaletown classic and with good reason! This seafood is off-the-hook fresh (and sustainable!), the deck is elevated from the street and surrounded by beautiful colorful planters. Yaletown’s cobbled streets do give it all that European romantic feel. A short walk from Jump, head to Nelson and turn right on Hamilton. Check out their menu here.
To avoid disappointment, book your Date Night in advance online, or give us a call. Oh, and did we mention Date Night at jump is only $32 - you can't afford not to go out!
Enjoy! You deserve it.
